CHICAGO
September 2024 - September 2025
From Fall 2024 through Fall 2025 we are utilizing our participatory playmaking process to ignite dialogue and build relationships across siloed communities in Chicago, IL. Based on initial conversations with local organizations and leadership, we are specifying our work even further by focusing on connecting with neighborhoods on the South & West Sides of Chicago.
The Civic Series explores the foundational texts that shape American life—whether we embrace them or challenge them. In Chicago we are activating the First Amendment (Freedoms of Religion, Assembly, Speech, etc.) to spark conversations among Chicagoans about how those promised freedoms have shaped their lives and their city as a whole.
We are partnering with local artists, activists, civic, religious leaders, and community members from all over the city to ensure that the final performance reflects the widest possible scope of community experiences.
