CHICAGO
September 2024 - May 2025
From Fall 2024 to Spring 2025 we are focusing on strengthening relationships between siloed communities on the south and west sides of Chicago. A group of artists, led by locals and ITP national team members, will be activating the First Amendment (Freedoms of Religion, Assembly, Speech, etc.) to spark conversations among Chicagoans to better understand and honor the multiplicity of stories that exist among neighbors. We are partnering with local artists, activists, civic & religious leaders, and community members from all over the city to ensure that everyone is invited into the playmaking process.
The first installment in our Civic Series, Preparation’s Aftermath: Scenes on Service, was devised in partnership with West Point Military Academy, exploring never transcribed testimonials of American GI’s during WWII.
